The game was again the standard 40 points (Captain Vendari seems to like that). Captain Complicated had requested that the game be single nationality, and so it was. Captain Vendari, who had just aquired his father's Pirates collection earlier today, had a host of mighty English warships to choose from. Captain Complicated decided to be the Pirates, while their younger brother Captain Gold picked the Spanish. Each fleet had some great potential to win.

There were four islands in the middle of the map: one in the very center, with the three other wild islands ringing it. The outer islands each had five coins, while the center island recieved nine.

When the start cannon went off, the Lady's Scorn immediately shot from her home island, practically flying out of the water with her incredibly fast 6S move from Calico Cat's SAT ability. She was practially at the center island by the time Vendari's HMS Grand Temple arrived. And just in time...to completely derelict the four-master with her six cannons. But Captain Complicated wasn't going to let the Scorn sink without getting anything out of it. He explored the center island, leaving the Scorn's crew on the island to make room for treasure. Unfortunately for Captain Vendari, the Lady's Scorn is Eternal. Unfortunately for Captain Complicated, he wouldn't benefit from the Eternal keyword.

In an attempt to save the Lady's Scorn from capture, her crew used the Witch's Brew they had found to get the HMS Grand Temple lost in a fogbank. That didn't help much. Vendari rolled a 4 when giving the Temple a move action, which brought her bow right in contact with the bow of the Scorn. Vendari then rolled a successful scuttle attempt, and the next turn, the Lady's Scorn appeared at Captain Vendari's home island.

Meanwhile, in the north of the map, Banshee's Cry loaded Fruit and a 5. They must have heard from the crew of the Winds of Vengeance how good that fruit was. At the same time, La Resolucion set a course after the HMS Half Moon. With little possibilty of escape, the Englishman rammed her little bow in the Spaniard that was twice her size. Nothing. Seeing that they had nothing to lose, her crew swung over to the Spanish ship to at least try to take out the Helmsman. But the Spanish were stronger and pushed them back to their own ship.

Scoffing at the futile boarding attempt, the crew of the Resolucion aimed their front guns at the smaller ship and blew off both of her masts. Well, that wasn't very nice. HMS Grand Temple, who had just grabbed the Lady's Scorn popped out of the fogbank just in time to see the Spaniard blow away the last mast of the HMS Half Moon. With the triple S speed granted by her captain, Hermione Gold, she lined up all six of her guns on the Resolucion and let loose. Four hits. The Spaniard was derelict.

La Santa Isabel, wary of the fighting toward the center of the map, slipped in to grab a couple of coins from the island to the south-west, and went home (but not before theTemple knocked down three of her masts), unloading a 4, 2, and two silver 1s. With her ability, combined with her Silver Explorer, her haul yielded a total of 13 gold.

Over in the east, the Coral found Neptune's Trident, which she promptly used to derelict the HMS Hermes before she could collect the Scorn's marooned crew from the middle island. But that was about the last Captain Complicated besides unloading a 6 and a 2 at home.

Eventually, El Algeciras chased down  the Banshee's Cry and sank her The Coral, having nothing better to do, tried to go out with a bang by ramming the Algeciras. Apparently she wasn't fast enough, because no damage was dealt. And when she attempted to board, she ended up just losing the Mirror of Archimedes she had found. then the Spanish ship sank her.

The rest of the game was spent with Captain Vendari derelicting and towing his opponents' ships home. He also managed to get whatever gold remained home. The final gold count:

    Vendari: 9
    Complicated: 13
    Gold: 13

The final victory went to Captain Gold. While there was a tie for gold between Captain Complicated and Captain Gold, the former had lost all of his units first. It was a good game.
